Myofunctional therapy uses guided exercises and education to work on the coordination and habits of the tongue, lips, and facial muscles.
At MyoThrive, the focus is on understanding your starting point, setting individual goals, and helping you practice new skills in daily life. Care is tailored to the person, with collaboration and referrals when needed.

Consider the bigger picture and coordinate with your dental or medical providers when appropriate.
I’m Lindsey DesLauriers, founder of MyoThrive. I’ve worked in dentistry for 18 years, I’m a mom to two girls, and I’m married to my wonderful chef husband, who keeps us all fed and happy. I’ve also called Marshfield home for most of my life.
My interest in myofunctional therapy became deeply personal when my youngest daughter struggled with snoring, gasping, and disrupted sleep. For years, I felt like the bigger picture was being missed. When an ENT finally heard our concerns when she was three, we began getting some of the help she needed.
That experience helped shape MyoThrive: a place built around listening, connection, and helping children and adults work toward better everyday function.
Sometimes, the little things we notice every day are worth a closer look. Explore this checklist for yourself or your child.
You don’t need to have all the answers before reaching out. A consultation can help us discuss what you’re noticing and whether myofunctional therapy, another provider, or a different next step may be appropriate.

Persistent difficulty breathing through the nose also deserves medical evaluation. Myofunctional therapy does not replace medical care or prescribed sleep apnea treatment.
This is an educational checklist, not a diagnostic test. There is no score or cutoff, and checking a box does not mean therapy is needed. Age, development, and the cause of a symptom matter. Selections stay on this page and are not submitted.
